Glossybox September 2013: “The London Edition”

September is my second month of Glossybox and it is definitely proving to be well worth the money. I love getting the little box each month with little “gifts”, if you will, inside.

The first sample this month is Elizabeth Arden Untold fragrance.

WHAT THEY SAY: “A luxurious and modern floral fragrance, UNTOLD celebrates the sophistication and intrigue of the multi-faceted modern woman. From her vibrant optimism and refined femininity to her mysterious aura and magnetic sensuality, UNTOLD’s sparkling and fruity introduction, radiant floral heart and mysterious addictive warmth captures femininity in a bottle as beautiful and multifaceted as woman herself.”

Now last month’s Glossybox also had a fragrance sample included, but this months is in much fancier packaging, being a miniature version of the full size bottle. I’ve only tried this perfume on the back of my hand at the time of writing this, but I really like it, it’s fresh but sophisticated.
The full size version of this is £48 for 50ml or £69 for 100ml HERE.

Next is a full size product, and it is Eylure Pre-glued Lashes.

WHAT THEY SAY: “Eylure’s pre-glued lashes mean no mess, no fuss, no waiting! Simply remove the lashes from the tray and apply to get natural looking, perfectly full lashes every time.”

I wouldn’t exactly say that these were natural looking lashes, they look quite dramatic to be honest! I never really wear false lashes because they’re just way too fiddly, mainly because of the glue, so hopefully these are a lot easier to use that normal false lashes! We’ll have to see!
These retail for £5.06 and are available HERE.

Another full sized product is the Toni & Guy HairMeet Wardrobe Classic Shine & Gloss Serum.

WHAT THEY SAY: “Meet the limited edition packaging by Fashion’s Fairy Godmother Lulu Kennedy for TONI&GUY HairMeetWardorbe. The Classic Shine Gloss Serum controls frizz with lightweight shine and alignment and for a limited time only will come in Lulu’s graphic interpretation of a classic design.”

I’ve actually been wanting a shine spray/serum for a while but I’ve just never got round to getting one, so I have high hopes of this, it being from Toni & Guy!
This retails at £7.19 (30ml) and is available HERE.

Yet another full sized product is the Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Onyx Eye Liner.

WHAT THEY SAY: “Onyx’ best-selling eyeliner will last throughout your entire day, no matter how hectic it is! With a felt tip to draw a thin line for a casual look or a thicker line for a dramatic look, it is super easy to apply and only takes seconds to apply.”

This is a brand I’ve never heard of before, something that beauty boxes seem to do, throw in brands that aren’t very well known. I’m excited to try this as I’m becoming a bit of an eyeliner junkie, and it looks very similar to the L’Oreal Superliner Blackbuster which I’ve heard are quite good, but we’ll see!
This retails for $14 and is available HERE.

And the final product, which unfortunately was broken when it arrived, is this blusher from HD Brows.

WHAT THEY SAY: “Give your cheeks a natural flush with this soft, burnt rose powder. With long-lasting staying power, this versatile blusher suits all skin tones and creates and beautiful glow.”

I thought that a blusher from HD Brows was absolutely bizarre, for the reason that they make brow products!
This retails for £17.95 and is available HERE.

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!: 50 Facts About Me

So as today is my birthday I thought I would do a 50 facts about me to let you all get to know me a little bit better!
Also I’M BACK! I’ve taken an unintentional break from blogging for nearly three weeks now, but I’m back I’ll hopefully be uploading more often than not!

But anyway...

  1. Today I am 17!
  2. I’m from the United Kingdom in the North of England.
  3. I am studying dance at college.
  4. I have a little bit of an obsession with makeup...
  5. ...and most of my money, if not all, each month is spent on makeup.
  6. I LOVE the royal family...
  7. ... And when Prince George was born, I spent the two days from hearing that Kate had gone into labour until William, Kate and George came out of the hospital the day after watching the Lindo wing live feed and checking the news. Dedication.
  8. I have a very weird sleeping pattern and usually don’t end up going to sleep until about two in the morning.
  9. I am only 5’0”, the average height of a 12 year old. Yay me.
  10. When I was in year nine I used to be obsessed with The Hills and used to go on about it all the time.
  11. I’m allergic to most furry animals aside from hamsters. How random.
  12. I have been dancing since I was 4 which I means I have been dancing for 13 years nearly now. What.
  13. I have a slight obsession with YouTube...
  14. ... some of my favourite YouTubers include Daily Grace, Sprinkle Of Glitter and Mamrie Hart.
  15. Whenever I’m feeling sad I’ll watch either Daily Grace’s “How To Tell Your Parents You’re Pregnant” video or Miranda Sings’ “The Way” cover or any of Mamrie Hart’s YDAD videos. Love them.
  16. MAC is my favourite makeup brand.
  17. I LOVE Marc Jacobs accessories...
  18. ...and I wish that Marc Jacobs Beauty was sold here in the UK.
  19. Sephora should branch out to England. PLEASEEEEEEE.
  20. I’m extremely patronising.
  21. Despite thinking that I would fail drama, I actually did best in that in my GCSEs than in any other subject (aside from ICT but that’s easy).
  22. I hated school, but I wish I was back because I miss seeing my friends everyday.
  23. I thoroughly enjoyed prom even though I was dreading going thinking that it would be rubbish.
  24. I love stationery. I could easily spend £1000 in Staples, haha.
  25. I absolutely love fashion...
  26. ... however I HATE clothes shopping, because I can never find things that I like that I think suit me.
  27. I’m terrible at street dance, and the fact that we do it at college actually makes me so upset because I can’t do it to save my life.
  28. I am super against drugs and hate it when people brag about it.
  29. Leaving school has really taught me who my real friends are!
  30. I love Pinterest.
  31. I really want a tattoo and I’m going to get one as soon as I’m 18.
  32. My MacBook Pro is the best investment ever because I love it.
  33. When I’ve finished college I want to move to London.
  34. I’m determined to be able to go to the next IMATS in London next July.
  35. I have never seen Titanic, which surprises everyone I tell.
  36. Though I generally have rather an unconventional family, as so to speak, I have the most wonderful friends.
  37. I LOVE Nandos.
  38. I want to move to London, preferably straight after college, I just don’t know how I’m going to fund living there...
  39. I have a YouTube channel if you didn’t already know (HERE). You should go check it out and subscribe pleaseeeeeee. (I upload makeup tutorials but I’m wanting to branch out and do other videos so let me know if there are any you’d like to see!)
  40. If I wasn’t doing the dance course I’m on right now I would be doing a fashion course, or maybe possibly a makeup course.
  41. I love heels because I’m so small and they make me a little more of normal height for my age.
  42. This blog started because I watched Kandee Johnson on YouTube and she left a link in the description bar to her blog and I read it and thought it looked fun so then started my own.
  43. Despite my blog/YouTube name, my surname is NOT “Land” - the name “emilyland” came from Kandee J’s lifestyle blog “kandeeland” - she inspired me, however now I realise it’s probably caused some confusion. Just to put that out there.
  44. Selfridges is probably my favourite shop despite only being able to afford the makeup from there...
  45. I really want to go to the States to go shopping in Sephora and Ulta and QVS and Wal Mart and Cheesecake Factory and Macy’s and Bloomingdales... yep, you get it.
  46. Whenever I find a song that I really like, I will listen to it over and over and over again until I then hate it because I’ve heard it so many times!
  47. I hate painting my nails because it just takes too long to dry and it always seems to chip off so easily.
  48. There are so many designer handbags I want from Chanel, Givenchy, Michael Kors, Mulberry...
  49. My makeup wish list is ever growing and VERY long.
  50. I would LOVE to blog/vlog as a career - it would be so fun!

That is all for you today!
I’m hopefully going to be uploading a new makeup tutorial on my channel tomorrow (HERE), and I’m hoping to get into a good routine of blogging again, as I have been VERY lazy recently!

Toodlepip!
