The Best Mascara EVER

"The best mascara ever" is probably a very big claim to make, but I stand with my vote to say that this is the best mascara I have ever used.
Unless this is the first post from my blog that you have read, you won't be unfamiliar with this. It is the Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara.
Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara, £7.99

As you'll know, I'm a big fan of Maybelline's volume express mascaras; I've been using them for years, and I've tried out nearly all of them. Despite being impressed I've never ended up repurchasing the same one. I decided to try this just as a change and I noticed in the shop that the wand looked very similar to that of the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara which I loved but haven't used in years. As this was cheaper, I decided to give it a try. WOW.

My lashes naturally are very short (weeps), this gives them SO MUCH length and volume. It is also very long lasting too. As I right this, last night I naughtily forget to take my makeup off (slaps wrist), but when I woke up the next morning, 50%, or more even, of the product was still on my lashes. I still looked like I actually had eyelashes in comparison to no mascara.

Would I recommend this to you? Of course. Is this something I will repurchase? DEFINITELY.

My Top 5 Favourite MAC Products

So following my general top 5 favourite products (HERE) I decided I would do the same but with MAC!
Most people that know me know that I am just slightly obsessed with MAC, I just rate the brand really highly and I love the quality of their products.

My first product is one that I wasn't too in love with when I first bought, but now I am madly in love with, and that is the Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle

This is a powder highlighter which leaves the skin with a gorgeous healthy glow and is picked up a lot by sunlight, making you look radiant and gorgeous! I apply this to the tops of my cheek bones and on my Cupid's bow.

Next one is the lipstick in Lady Danger.

This is a bright orange-red in a matte finish. What I love about this is that though it is matte finish, it doesn't dry out the lips, it actually feels quite moisturising. It is such a bright colour which I love! Definitely not one for the faint hearted.

MAC's 217 Blending Brush is the most amazing brush ever as you can do so much with it.

Now generally I just apply and blend my eyeshadow with it, however you can also use it to apply highlighter, concealer, to contour... I suppose anything! You can only really use a natural hair brush, like this, with powder products, however this actually handles really well also with cream products too.

The eyeshadow in the shade 'Expensive Pink' is definitely MACs most unique product that they sell.

It is a gorgeous coral pink with gold shimmer and it suits every skin tone. I love how wearable this is for both day and night. Its gorgeous!

And my final product is another lipstick in the shade Russian Red.

Again a matte finish, it is a blue-toned red which is perfect for a retro look (I used it in my retro glam makeup tutorial HERE). Alike Lady Danger, this is VERY long lasting, especially when worn with a lip liner underneath.

Top 5 At 5: Favourite Beauty Products

The Urban Decay Naked Palette is the super multitasking palette as there are so many different looks that can be made using the shades, from a deep dark smokey eye to a glamorous daytime look.
Urban Decay Naked Palette

WHAT URBAN DECAY SAY: "THIS is how Urban Decay does neutral! Far from boring, Urban Decay's Naked Palette features a shade range that runs from the palest champagne to the grittiest gunmetal. Not just "shades of beige", each shadow has a distinctly Urban look, yet works for EVERYONE."
This is definitely an everyday essential for me! I use this most days if not everyday even if I'm just using one shade from it because it just has everything you need.

I LOVE the Real Techniques Brushes! They are so affordable yet so high quality.

Real Techniques pointed foundation brush (part of core collection)

Real Techniques contour brush (part of core collection)

Real Techniques expert face brush

Real Techniques buffing brush (part of core collection)

Real Techniques powder brush

WHAT REAL TECHNIQUES SAY: "Designed with pro makeup artist Samantha Chapman, Real Techniques brushes combine high-tech materials with innovative design to make creating a pixel-perfect look easier than ever."
My favourites definitely have to be the buffing brush and contour brush (both part of the core collection HERE).

MAC's Lipstick in Russian Red is a favourite of mine because 1. I LOVE the colour and 2. it lasts literally all day.
MAC Russian Red Lipstick

WHAT MAC SAY: "Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous."
The shade Russian Red is described as 'Intense bluish red' in a matte finish. Though it is a matte finish it actually feels very moisturising and does not dry the lips out at all. I like wearing this with a red lip liner underneath to prolong the colour even more.

I have a feeling that this next product is something that I will end up talking about A LOT and is the Rimmel BB Cream.
Rimmel BB Cream in Light

WHAT RIMMEL SAY: "Rimmel's 1st 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup 9 in 1 results: Primes, moisturises, minimizes pores, conceals, covers, smoothes, mattifies, brightens, and helps protect. Lightweight, ultra comfortable formula instantly gives a flawless finish."
I love how great the coverage is for this, as even though it is a BB cream, it still has the coverage of a foundation but the lightness of a moisturiser.

Another product from MAC is their Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in 'Soft And Gentle'

WHAT MAC SAY: "A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, brows, anywhere on the body: provides an ultra-deluxe polish to the skin."
The colour is described as "Gilded peach bronze". This leaves the skin with a super healthy glow. I apply this with my Real Techniques Contour Brush to the tops on my cheekbones.

So there are my 5 top favourite beauty products ever (at this moment in time!).
Let me know if you'd like me to do a more in-depth review of any of the products here!

Eyeko Skinny Mini Liquid Liner First Impressions Review

I came across THIS Eyeko liquid liner as a free gift in this month's Marie Claire magazine.
Eyeko was a brand that I heard of before but never really heard that much about, so I wasn't sure whether to have high hopes that it would be great, or to have no hopes for it at all.

My eye - excuse my unruly brows.

The applicator is a felt tip pen style. Now I've tried these before and they have not been very pigmented when applied and they have dried out SO quickly (I'm talking days...). However this was very black when I applied it, always a bonus. I found it super easy to apply and it was really easy to get a good shape without lots of faffing around.
Staying power? It definitely lasted all day, however when I accidentally wiped past it, it smudged right off. Very disappointing.

I'm keeping this a short review/post, but in terms of application I score it high because of how easy it was to get the right shape, but in terms of staying power and non-smudginess - they do claim it is smudgeproof too - I score it quite low because it smudged off so easily and also washed off very easily (a pro and con in itself, to be honest).

Have you tried this liner? What other liquid liners have you tried? Let me know in the comments what you think of it.
