I Heart Summer TAG

Hey everyone! So today I bring the second collab that me and the lovely Parie are doing, which from the header is the 'I Heart Summer Tag'.
I'm quite enjoying writing these tag posts, they're a bit different to what I'd usually do!
I hope you enjoy!

What's your favourite summer nail polish?
It would definitely have to be Barry M Nail Paint in Pink Flamingo.
It is so bright and vibrant, and doesn't really work in winter, making it so great for summer!

What is your favourite lip colour this summer?

I can't decide between these but it is between MAC Lady Danger and MAC Viva Glam Nicki. Alike the nail polish, these are super bright and wonderful for summer. I would probably wear Lady Danger at other times in the year but Viva Glam Nicki is a very spring/summer shade! And best of all, all the MAC Viva Glam lipsticks give most of the money to charity, the MAC Aids Fund, so you can feel good about buying a lipstick when the money goes to a good cause!

Show us your favourite summer dress.

I bought this shift dress from H&M for my birthday meal back in September, and as it was in the sale I'm presuming that it is no longer in stock. But anyway, this is neon pink with cream lace look detailing. Neon is super on trend this season and the cut of this is super classic. I hoping to get some wear out of it in the next couple of months!

What is your favourite summer accessory?

Now I haven't actually worn this yet, obvious from the photograph but I love this necklace so much already! It is from Primark costing £4 and I bought it on Tuesday - it has a gold chain with gold spikes and through the chain is neon rope (rope?! Not sure if that's what you call it!). I'm loving neon at the moment and so this is obviously a great one for the neon trend also!

What summer trends are you most excited about this year?
Monochrome! Though black and white may seem super boring, I've been experimenting with ways of making it more interesting, however it's also very classic and stylish, and very easy to accessorise and match makeup! I'm also loving neon, as seen above!

What is your favourite summer candle?
I'm not a candle person, and I think I'm the only person ever that doesn't actually own any candles so I can't comment here!

What is your favourite body spray and perfume?
This is a very easy decision for me, it definitely has to be DKNY Red Delicious - unfortunately I'm all out at the moment and I desperately need to repurchase it!

What is the weather like where you live in the summer?
This is very hard to answer as it varies every year and every day to be honest! For a couple days it could be rainy and then couple days it could be sunny - it's very unpredictable here in good old Blighty.

What is your favourite thing about summer?
I would say the weather, it being warm and sunny, however that isn't always the case here in the UK. So my favourite thing about summer would have to obviously be the fashion and the makeup! In the way that they are both brighter and not as dull and dark!

What are your plans for summer vacation?
Blogging, filming youtube videos, blogging, blogging, filming.. with the odd chummy day out here and there and hopefully some nice barbecues and all that. It's going to be the longest summer I've ever had so I'm hoping that it is going to be the best!

May Beauty Favourites

Hey everyone!
Can you believe it's June tomorrow already! It's crazy how I have two weeks left in school (because of exams) and then I'm gone!

So this months favourites is a tad sparse. There aren't really many things because I've not really been shopping for new products much this month!

Lady Gaga Fame Eau de Parfum

This came to me this month as a complete surprise. I got home from college one day and it was there waiting - can I just clarify it didn't just spontaneously appear in my house, my mum surprisingly bought it for me out of good will. I love it so much. Just everything about it: the bottle, the scent, and the fact that it is Lady Gaga (I LOVE HERRRRRRR). I would try and describe the scent but I would describe it completely wrong and scents are different to everyone! But I love it so much, I've worn it most days since I got it!

NARS Orgasm Blush

I mentioned this is my face of the day post and colours of the rainbow tag post (both) on Saturday, but anyway, I finally bought one of the most cult products ever (along with Touché Éclat and the Naked Palette). I love it so much. It will look great on every skin tone and it is just wonderful! That's all I can really say, I just love it so much.

 No7 Perfectly Bronzed Mosaic Bronzer

Oooeee, a two-in-one product - I do love me some multipurposeness (ooo cringe). It has two different bronzer shades as well as two different pink shades, so you can use it as a blush as well as a bronzer. I have mainly been avoiding the pink and just using the bronze as a contour. It's gorgeous. It's great because it's not orange as I find some bronzers to be on me as I'm so pale, but this one is fine! Lovely product for a great price! (I also got £3 off this as Boots were doing a £3 off deal on all No7 makeup with a voucher).

 Benefit Smokin Eyes Palette

This is an old flame of mine from my makeup collection... I suppose you could say that! I bought this with a gift card I got for my 15th birthday as I was obsessed with Benefit at this time. I only ended up using this a couple of times, because I just found it to not be very wearable, as in just too dark to wear in the day. However, a couple days ago I found it at the bottom of my drawer and thought I would have a play with it and make it work for daytime. So the past couple days I've applied the pink shade all over the lid up onto the brow bone, then the pewter shade in the outer third and then with the charcoal shade I used a pencil brush to define the outer half of my top lash line and then blended it out. It also comes with a brown brow wax and a pan version of their best seller Eye Bright, as well as a double ended brush and a pair of mini tweezers (mine aren't here as I lost them. I think I'll maybe do a face of the day with this this weekend or next week sometime as I'm really liking it (hence why it is in my favourites, duh!).

Well that is all the things I have been loving in the very quick month of May! It seems about a week ago that I posted April favourites!
I hope you have had a wonderful May!

A Selection Of Items From My Mac Wish List!

Most people that know me know that I am a massive MAC junkie. I literally spend most of my money in there because I love it so much!
I have a massive long wish list of MAC products that I want to buy, and so I thought that I would share just a few things with you - I hope you enjoy!

So the first one is Face and Body Foundation. This is a product that I believe every makeup artist has in their kit because it's so versatile. You can wear it really sheer with tinted moisturiser coverage, but the more it is worked into the skin, the more coverage you can get.
MAC Face and Body Foundation is priced at £20.50 for the 50ml bottle and £26.50 for the 120ml bottle. Click HERE to buy it

The Studio Finish Concealer is something that I wouldn't usually go for (I don't know why honestly?)
but Nic from Pixiwoo uses this concealer I'm nearly all her videos and I really want to give it a try! It comes in a little compact, the same as I eyeshadows I believe. It is apparently created on both blemishes and for the under eye area which is always great!
MAC Studio Finish Concealer is priced at £14.50. Click HERE to buy it.

Something that I haven't actually tried in store but I've seen online and on YouTube videos is the Cream Colour Base in the shade Pearl. It is a cream highlighter than can be used as a cheek highlighter, eyeshadow or eyeshadow base. They look gorgeous. I'm not really sure what else to say about it, but yes, it looks very nice indeed!
MAC Cream Colour Base is priced at £14.50. Click HERE to buy it.

So there's only really two pigments that I've seen online, which are Antique Gold and Vanilla... I love gold eyeshadow so much and the swatch on the website of Antique Gold looks gorgeous! Believe it or not I saw Vanilla pigment used on a YouTube makeup tutorial (I'm obsessed with YouTube if you didn't already guess that). Whoever used it (it might have been Tanya Burr?) used it as a brow highlight, and I do love me a good brow highlight! -- sorry, I make myself cringe so much sometimes, I do apologise.
MAC Pigments are priced at £16.50. Click HERE to buy it.

I'm loving cream eyeshadows so much at the moment, and MAC Paint Pots are relatively new to me, even though they've been out for about 2598348953 years. 'Painterly' is quite a boring one I suppose as it is flesh toned (well it's, flesh toned if your a pale prune like me) but it would be great as a base for eyeshadow or to even out uneven skin across the lid. 'Quite Natural' is a brownish neutral colour that once I again I spotted whilst watching a makeup tutorial! I think it would be a nice everyday colour for a soft smokey eye. My final paint pot on the paint pot list (?) is Vintage Selection. I'm not sure how I would describe this to be honest... well, MAC describe it as 'soft dirty peach' so I'll let you ponder about that one for yourselves!
MAC Paint Pots are priced at £14.50. Click HERE to buy it.

I didn't intend to write about all the lipsticks here, but I suppose these are the ones I want the most! 'Brave' is described my MAC as 'pink-beige with white pearl' in a satin finish. It would be a great everyday lipstick colour, because all my MAC lipsticks that I have now aren't really everyday or school appropriate. Well honestly, I would wear bright lip in the day, but sometimes you want to be more subtle. Speaking of subtle, 'Morange' is one of MAC's least subtle lipstick shades! They describe it as 'loudmouth orange' - it is so bright and in your face and I just love it! Another bright shade, 'Candy Yum-Yum' - now I believe this was out as a limited edition product last year A more-wearable, day-to-day shade, 'Lovelorn' - I bought this for my friend Chloe for her birthday after seeing it at a counter by chance. Thankfully she absolutely loves it and so do I!
MAC Lipsticks are priced at £14 each. Click HERE to buy it.

Another product that I want for contouring is the Powder Blush in Harmony. It is a brownish-nude shade that is the perfect shade for contouring (because of the brown undertones).
MAC Powder Blush is priced at £17.50 each in the compact and £14.50. Click HERE to buy it.

I'm not going to go into the eyeshadows in any detail because this post is long enough as it is. A few that I'm wanting include Patina, Satin Taupe, Naked Lunch and Greensmoke. I love MAC eyeshadows so much because there are so many shades and the pigmentation is amazing.
MAC Eyeshadows are priced at £12 each in the compact and £10 in the refill pan. Click HERE to buy it.

I think I got a bit carried away here!
There's even more things on my actual list than there are here, but I'm a massive fan of MAC products!

What things are on your MAC wish list?

Fresh Faced And Glowing

Hey everyone!
For this weeks "How To", I'm going to give you some ideas for getting super glowing skin without looking shiny.
I've done two different but similar looks for you, the first one that I wore on Monday and the second that I wore yesterday.
I hope you enjoy!

Face #1

I started off by mixing together my regular moisturiser and MAC Lustre Drops (the shade is Pink Rebel) and I just applied this all over my face and neck as I would with a normal moisturiser. Using my hands I applied the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in the shade 115. I find that this applies better when you use your hands in comparison to using a brush or sponge. To get rid of any uneveness in the skin I used Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer and applied this in the places I needed more coverage, ie under my eyes and around my nose. Next I applied a powder highlighter, MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle using a Real Techniques Contour Brush onto the tops of my cheeks. On the apples of my cheeks I applied Benefit Hervana Blush, also using the Real Techniques Contour brush. I then applied No7 Stay Perfect Eye Mousse in Vanilla all over my lid and then applied a champagne colour powder eyeshadow over the top. I filled in my brows using my trusty MAC eyeshadow in Brun and then applied some of my Maybelline The Falsies Mascara. I then went back in with the Mineralize Skin Finish for camera purposes (the lighting isn't so great today)

Face #2
Similarly to face #1, I started by mixing my moisturiser and MAC Lustre Drops in Pink Rebel and applying that all over my face and neck. I then mixed my foundation, Maybelline Fit Me and Benefit That Gal primer together and applied this with my hands. Again to cover up any imperfections I used the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer. I filled in my brows and then applied Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink-Gold all over my lid up to the crease. I applied a shimmery off white eyeshadow in the inner third of the eye. I darkened my lash line by applying a thin line of Rimmel ScandalEyes Liner in Black and blended this into my shadow. Finishing the eyes I applied a few coats of Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara.
Going back to the skin, I applied Stila Convertible Colour for Lips and Cheeks to the apples of my cheeks using a Real Techniques Contour Brush, blending it out with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. For this look, I decided to not add a highlighter. The cream blush is not a cream-to-powder formula, it says glossy and is very highlighting, so I never need extra when I wear it.

So just to sum up,  I mix my liquid highlighter (MAC Lustre Drops) with my moisturiser and them apply the foundation over the top, which gives a subtle 'hardly there' glow. I also use a powder highlighter, MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle , on the tops of my cheek bones. Another alternative I use is a cream blush which stays very glossy and so reflects a lot of light, highlighting my cheek bones. You could also use a super dewy finish foundation, however I don't do this myself as I have slightly oily skin which makes it worse.

I hope you found that interesting  and helpful! Leave me a link in comments if you have done a similar post, I'd love to read it!
