My Top 5 Favourite MAC Products

So following my general top 5 favourite products (HERE) I decided I would do the same but with MAC!
Most people that know me know that I am just slightly obsessed with MAC, I just rate the brand really highly and I love the quality of their products.

My first product is one that I wasn't too in love with when I first bought, but now I am madly in love with, and that is the Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle

This is a powder highlighter which leaves the skin with a gorgeous healthy glow and is picked up a lot by sunlight, making you look radiant and gorgeous! I apply this to the tops of my cheek bones and on my Cupid's bow.

Next one is the lipstick in Lady Danger.
MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger

This is a bright orange-red in a matte finish. What I love about this is that though it is matte finish, it doesn't dry out the lips, it actually feels quite moisturising. It is such a bright colour which I love! Definitely not one for the faint hearted.

MAC's 217 Blending Brush is the most amazing brush ever as you can do so much with it.

Now generally I just apply and blend my eyeshadow with it, however you can also use it to apply highlighter, concealer, to contour... I suppose anything! You can only really use a natural hair brush, like this, with powder products, however this actually handles really well also with cream products too.

The eyeshadow in the shade 'Expensive Pink' is definitely MACs most unique product that they sell.

It is a gorgeous coral pink with gold shimmer and it suits every skin tone. I love how wearable this is for both day and night. Its gorgeous!

And my final product is another lipstick in the shade Russian Red.

Again a matte finish, it is a blue-toned red which is perfect for a retro look (I used it in my retro glam makeup tutorial HERE). Alike Lady Danger, this is VERY long lasting, especially when worn with a lip liner underneath.

July Wish List!

What have I had my eye on this month?

Diorskin Air Flash Foundation

WHAT THEY SAY: "One sweep provides an instant sensation of freshness; in just a few seconds the skin tone is perfectly even with a radiant, surprisingly natural finish."
This is an aerosol foundation which gives the effect of airbrush makeup without the cost and training of a compressor and gun. Now I actually saw this quite a few months back and really wanted it, but then I just went off the idea. However after watching THIS video by Kandee Johnson, I really want it again because it makes her skin look AMAZING!
This retails for £33 HERE

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Surge

WHAT THEY SAY: "A rich and highly pigmented metallic cream that grabs full attention wherever it's applied. Smooth onto eyes, face and body with fingers or a brush and prepare to take the spotlight."

I swatched this in the Illamasqua store in Liverpool a couple weeks ago and oh my it is beautiful. They describe the shade as 'molten pewter'. These are VERY pigment and very metallic. The colour can be sheered out but can also be built up to be very intense. 'Liquid Metal' are mainly to be used on the eyes (how I would use it) but I think in editorial makeup it would look great on the lips too (not a very wearable look outside of an editorial shoot though).
This retails for £17.50 HERE

MAC Pro Lip Palette in Preferred Pinks

WHAT THEY SAY: "Warm, cool, vibrant, 6 key shades that translate pink into gorgeous, of-the-moment hues. Includes Violetta and Show Orchid, Amplified Creme; Crème de la Femme, Frost; Lovelorn and Pretty Please, Lustre and Please Me, Matte."

I LOVE this. It is just such a great product because you have six colours all together in one place, no fuss. This would be perfect for makeup artists as it takes up less room, which is also great for in your makeup bag too!
This retails for £35 HERE

So that is all for my July wish list! I'm hoping to get these once next pay day comes!

What have you had your eye on this month? Leave me a comment below!

Lots of love XO

Top 5 At 5: Favourite Beauty Products

The Urban Decay Naked Palette is the super multitasking palette as there are so many different looks that can be made using the shades, from a deep dark smokey eye to a glamorous daytime look.
Urban Decay Naked Palette

WHAT URBAN DECAY SAY: "THIS is how Urban Decay does neutral! Far from boring, Urban Decay's Naked Palette features a shade range that runs from the palest champagne to the grittiest gunmetal. Not just "shades of beige", each shadow has a distinctly Urban look, yet works for EVERYONE."
This is definitely an everyday essential for me! I use this most days if not everyday even if I'm just using one shade from it because it just has everything you need.

I LOVE the Real Techniques Brushes! They are so affordable yet so high quality.

Real Techniques pointed foundation brush (part of core collection)

Real Techniques contour brush (part of core collection)

Real Techniques expert face brush

Real Techniques buffing brush (part of core collection)

Real Techniques powder brush

WHAT REAL TECHNIQUES SAY: "Designed with pro makeup artist Samantha Chapman, Real Techniques brushes combine high-tech materials with innovative design to make creating a pixel-perfect look easier than ever."
My favourites definitely have to be the buffing brush and contour brush (both part of the core collection HERE).

MAC's Lipstick in Russian Red is a favourite of mine because 1. I LOVE the colour and 2. it lasts literally all day.
MAC Russian Red Lipstick

WHAT MAC SAY: "Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous."
The shade Russian Red is described as 'Intense bluish red' in a matte finish. Though it is a matte finish it actually feels very moisturising and does not dry the lips out at all. I like wearing this with a red lip liner underneath to prolong the colour even more.

I have a feeling that this next product is something that I will end up talking about A LOT and is the Rimmel BB Cream.
Rimmel BB Cream in Light

WHAT RIMMEL SAY: "Rimmel's 1st 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup 9 in 1 results: Primes, moisturises, minimizes pores, conceals, covers, smoothes, mattifies, brightens, and helps protect. Lightweight, ultra comfortable formula instantly gives a flawless finish."
I love how great the coverage is for this, as even though it is a BB cream, it still has the coverage of a foundation but the lightness of a moisturiser.

Another product from MAC is their Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft And Gentle.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in 'Soft And Gentle'

WHAT MAC SAY: "A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, brows, anywhere on the body: provides an ultra-deluxe polish to the skin."
The colour is described as "Gilded peach bronze". This leaves the skin with a super healthy glow. I apply this with my Real Techniques Contour Brush to the tops on my cheekbones.

So there are my 5 top favourite beauty products ever (at this moment in time!).
Let me know if you'd like me to do a more in-depth review of any of the products here!

Budget Beauty Edit: Best Buys Under £10

Beauty on a budget? I have five best buys under £10 for you today, because you don't always have to spend loads on your makeup and beauty items.
Enjoy!

I have been using the Maybelline Volume Express Mascaras for such a long time now.
Maybelline Volume Express Mascaras

Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express Mascara
Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara

Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara

They retail for around £7.99 I think and they are so good and really do 'what they say on the tin'. My favourite definitely has to be The Rocket! Honestly, I don't get the point in spending £20+ on a mascara that lasts only 3 months when you can get a super great ones like these for under £10!

The best concealer I have EVER used is the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in 02 Light

If you watch British Beauty gurus on YouTube then you will definitely be familiar with this as they all rave about it and it definitely deserves it because it is just amazing. For £4.19 for a concealer, you wouldn't expect long lasting full coverage, which is fluid enough to be used under the eyes but thick enough to be used on blemishes also.

The Rimmel BB Cream is a very new product for me as recommended by my friend Kirsten

The idea of a BB cream and wearing something so sheer and light kind of scared me (I prefer something with quite a full coverage), however this does have quite good coverage, I would say light to medium in comparison to very sheer like a tinted moisturiser, but it leaves the skin feeling so soft and lovely, both when it is on and even after I have taken it off! Lovely, lovely product for just £6.99.

I picked up the Clean & Clear Skin Energising Daily Facial Wash unintentionally a couple months back and I wasn't sure how it was going to work as I hadn't heard anything about it, however after trying it out the past few months or so I have really come to love it.
Clean & Clear Morning Energy Skin Energising Daily Facial Wash

It is oil free so is fantastic for oily skin as it just gets rid of all the excess oils without a drying effect, making the skin very manageable and so the makeup going on a lot better. This retails for just £3.99 too!

My final product is another recommendation from Kirsten is the Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivid Lipsticks.
Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivid Lipstick in 902 Fuchsia Flash

I love how pigmented these are and how easily they glide on. They are very long lasting and so a nightmare to get off (which is a pro and con in itself!). These retail for £7.19 and I have the shade Fuchsia Flash, which is very similar to MAC Candy Yum-Yum.
